Shimadzu BioSpec-nano Spectrophotometer

The Shimadzu BioSpec-nano is a low-maintenance micro-volume spectrophotometer that has been designed for molecular research and life science laboratories. Shimadzu BioSpec-nano has up to 10 times better detection limits compared to the competition, making the instrument ideal for quantitation of DNA, RNA, protein analysis, and photometric measurements. The quantitation can be carried out rapidly and simply with very small sample volumes, ranging from 1 µL.

Features of the Shimadzu BioSpec-nano include:

  • Easy drop-and-start measurement
The automatic sample mounting of the Shimadzu BioSpec-nano eliminates the need for arm raising and lowering. The user just has to drop the sample onto the target and click the button. From here, the instrument will do everything else.

  • Excellent reproducibility and measurement accuracy
Shimadzu BioSpec-nano is ideal for quantitation of DNA- and RNA samples. The Shimadzu BioSpec-nano spectrophotometer enables the users to obtain high reproducibility even when low concentration samples are measured.

  • Easy-to-use software
The operation modes available for the users include full-spectrum data, quick analysis, single wavelength and multiple wavelength data measurement, and calibration curve builder. The built-in modes aid quantification of simple nucleic acids (RNA, ssDNA, dsDNA, and OligoDNA), labeled nucleic acids and proteins in seconds with minimal effort.

The automatic sample mounting of the Shimadzu BioSpec-nano eliminates the need for arm raising and lowering. The user just has to drop the sample onto the target and click the button. From here, the instrument will do everything else – sample mounting, measurement and wiping. The automatic wiping feature of the Shimadzu BioSpec-nano makes wiping of the measurement sample unnecessary, meaning that the users does not have to wipe the liquid-contact parts with a cloth anymore. The automatic wiping feature enables the user to perform measurement of one sample after another, making the sampling process much easier for the users.

Basic operations can be performed by using the function keys on the instrument. When the measurements are done, the results can be converted to CSB or PDF files.
