Shimadzu UV-3600 with optional accessories and software
The Shimadzu UV-3600 comes with a software package called UVProbe. This software is used in order to control the instrument and incorporates the following four functions: Spectrum, photometric, kinetics, and report generator. The users can take advantage of a wide variety of data processing options, such as peak/valley detection, area calculation, and others. The quick print options allows the users to print data directly from the different modules without moving to the Report Generator. The UVProbe software includes security functions where operations are limited for the individual user, which ensures data reliability.
The Shimadzu UV-3600 is compatible with a wide range of optional accessories including large, multi-purpose sample compartment or an integrating sphere attachment that enables the measurement of solid samples. The ASR-series absolute specular reflectance attachments, can be used to perform absolute specular reflectance measurements with a high level of precision. In addition, a thermoelectrically temperature controlled cell holder or a microscopic cell holder can be installed and used in order to handle a wide range of measurement applications.

Shimadzu UV-3600 compared to other instruments
Even though the Shimadzu UV-3600 maintains some features of previous models, it is still a huge upgrade from previous Shimadzu spectrophotometers. The Shimadzu UV-3600 features a wider wavelength range than Shimadzu UV-2700. Shimadzu UV-3600 is not only a huge upgrade in relation to previous Shimadzu models, as the instrument also beats its competitors on several parameters. Shimadzu UV-3600 also beats Agilent Cary 4000 and PerkinElmer LAMBDA 850+ on wavelength range.

Features of the UV-3600 compared to other instruments include:

Shimadzu UV-3600 versus Agilent Cary 4000

  • Shimadzu UV-3600 features a wider wavelength range than Agilent Cary 4000.

Shimadzu UV-3600 versus PerkinElmer LAMBDA 850+

  • Shimadzu UV-3600 features a wider wavelength range than PerkinElmer LAMBDA 850+.

Shimadzu UV-3600 with NanoCuvette™ One, SpectroLink™,  and SpectroWorks™

The NanoCuvette™ One is a cuvette that can be used for measuring both refractive index and absorbance using a spectrophotometer.

The Shimadzu UV-3600 features a 15 mm beam height and a minimum spectral bandwidth of 0.1 nm, making the instrument compatible with our NanoCuvette™ One.

The compatibility of Shimadzu UV-3600 with our products

With our NanoCuvette™ One your Shimadzu UV-3600 will be able to measure 2 mL / 0.5 µL samples via refractive index for QC and kinetics. You can find a recording here showing how to perform a measurement with NanoCuvette™ One

In addition to NanoCuvette™ One, you can use SpectroLink™ for simplifying your spectrophotometer workflow to a three step process allowing you to quickly acquire, analyze and extract results. In this way, you don't have to waste more time on trouble with file formats, data transfer or sharing results.
