What is a beam height?
Beam height is an important parameter of every spectrophotometer. Here you can find more information about it.
Sample held in the cuvette is placed in the spectrophotometer in the designated place. In every spectrophotometer the light source that is illuminating the cuvette is placed on the fixed hight.
Depending on the height of the light beam the sample in the cuvette should also be held on the right hight.
The height of the beam is measured from the bottom of the cuvette chamber.
There are three main beam hight standards in the industry: 8.5 mm, 15 mm, 20 mm (and sometimes 19 mm).
