What is a spectrophotometer?
A spectrophotometer is an instrument measuring the intensity of light at different wavelengths. It has a container for a sample solution and can shine through this sample solution to measure the intensity of the light which is not absorbed by the sample. This is known as the absorbance of the sample. The absorbance is used to calculate concentration of sample solutions at specific wavelengths.
